about

This project is all about limited sounds and lots of space, and a departure (for me) of filling the entire listening space with sound. In "Tonecluster", I wanted to see if I could get each sound (piano, or drums, or synthesizers) to sit in the listening-space in the way that a beautiful gem sits on a piece of black cloth.

I chose to work with only a handful of instruments and sounds (instead of the myriad of keyboards and noises I'd used in my previous two projects), deliberately limiting the available choices to sit in the "black space".

Try this album with headphones.

about

From 1996 through 2004, I recorded and published a few CDs of music, each experimenting with blending different genres of ... more music together.

Some of the music ended up on television and in film.

Music for "Replicant" (2001) and a TV pilot ("My Crappy Neighborhood") hasn't been available to the public until now.

Other music never made it to CD, and it is available here for the first time.
